SLTDS has its roots in being the pioneering and sole publisher of telephone directories in Sri Lanka. The very first telephone directory in Sri Lanka, which was initially published by a separate division of SLT took place in the year 1939. In 2002, SLT launched its own directory publishing company, SLT Publications (Pvt) Ltd., and re-introduced the directory revamped and rebranded as SLT Rainbow Pages, which better catered to the changing needs of customers during that era. This directory served every household and business organization across the island, bringing together state institutions as well as suppliers and business entities with over 1,300 product and service category listings as well as contact information of over 20,000 suppliers and supplier advertisements. The subsidiary’s name was later changed to SLT Digital Info Services (Pvt) Ltd., which is how we know it today, with a much broader vision in mind as a result of the company foreseeing the future and the key role played by technology and digitalization in re-writing and re-shaping the future.
In addition to the national telephone directory which SLTDS has made accessible via different mediums, the company also offers a whole suite of digital marketing solutions to empower and mobilize SMEs and new businesses and entrepreneurs such as the designing and creation of websites, management of social media brand pages, search engine optimization (SEO) services, search engine marketing (SEM) services, content marketing, email and SMS marketing as well as event management and activation services.
SLTDS has therefore, evolved with the times to become the successful company that it is today. Through its pioneering directory services and digital marketing solutions, the company reaches out to millions of people across frontiers.
